Bloom

This animated series follows the journey of two young inhabitants (Sole and Lonoma) of the planet EM-oauri and the entourage that forms around them as they endeavor to change the direction that the humanoid species of their planet are heading.

Many years before their birth, tribes of ancient Anankitians sailed across the sea to a large peninsula that they called Geshwa ("humid place"). Over time, the Geshwan people became distinct from their Anankitian counterparts through exposure to the differences in environment.

Eventually, Geshwans began to venture further North, crossing the mountains separating the peninsula of Geshwa from the rest of the continent and the northern ice cap. The exploration continued and time passed as another distinct population began to form in the colder regions above the Boshter ("great barrier") mountain range.

Strained by the harsh conditions of Tchon ("cut off"/"severed") but determined to survive, the new Tchonians began to propagate vast fields of food crops during the warmer seasons that they could harvest and store through sheoffin ("ice robed"/winter). These foods that stored through sheoffin were mostly good sources of energy but contained small usable amounts of most other nutrition.

Open Project Roles

Due to the surplus in available energy from these practices, the Tchonian population exploded. Villages became larger villages; larger villages became towns; towns became cities; eventually cities became regions and cities that grew into each other. During this time, as many generations passed, life became increasingly jumbled but full of growth and the Tchonian people forgot the life they had lived before. In line with the nature of being, they collectively adapted to the hectic explosivity of their new life (or at least most of them). As cities grew, certain innovative Tchonians came up with new ways to make the mass production of themselves, their food, and their houses work. To fight the deaths of degeneration with refined formulas and make their surplus last even longer. These people of the North reveled in their ingenuity and it wasn't long before the memory of their past was replaced with a mockery of gutteral chants and silly gestures.

This was about the time that Sole and Lonoma were conceived and entered into the world, as overwhelmed and exhilirated as any new life, in the cradle of Anankit. Many generations had passed here as well and, though the lives of modern Anankitians would be unrecognizable to those who sailed across the sea long ago, a deeply rooted bundle of sentiments prevailed, carried safely in the arms of the forest.

Little over a decade before the series begins, the people of the North (now the Tchonian Empire) decided they had outgrown the mass of land on which they came to be. The government which enforced the structure of the Empire was convinced that the world would be better off united under their rule. Quickly, driven by their massive population, imperialist colonies sprang up across the Boshter mountains on the edge of Geshwa. Not long after, ships set sail for the Northern shores of Anankit.

This soundtrack (a first draft) is intended to demonstrate the basic layout of the first episode on which the animatic is being based.
